Welcome!

Our kennel is located in the village of Puuppola, Central Finland, 14 km north of Jyväskylä. We breed Spanish Water Dogs on small scale. In our pack includes Riikka-Marja and Jeremias, 5 Spanish water dogs; Paavo, Ransu, Frida, Aku and Sylvi. Our hobbies with the dogs include blood tracking, retrieving, everyday obedience training and exhibitions.

The kennel itself was named after thousands of colors of the Lappish sky, Luces del Norte, which means northern lights. The name itself honors and speaks of our northern roots. We conducted the breeder course in October 2012 and the Finnish Kennel Club breeder commitment was signed in 14.10.2012.

As breeders, our goals are to increase the breed standard, good temper as well as diverse recreational use for the Spanish water dogs. We want to offer each of our dogs a good life and the most important thing for us is, that the dog gets a good home. A home, where it is loved just as they are.

In 2008 the first “Perro” walked into our lives, sir “Paavo” and we totally fellin love with the breed, so that was love at first sight! “Paavo” had all the things we look for in a dog, the breed and even more so. We fell in love with the multifaceted personality of the breed and why not, the look isn’ t that bad either.

We have daytime jobs but this love for our hobby brings so much happiness to our lives. Life without a dog is a pretense. The family has grown further in 2010 when Ransu came from Kirkkonummi and in 2012 we received Frida, the very first Spanish import to Finland. Over the years we have been occupied with all kinds of things together and the show bug has really bitten us. We travel around the world and in Finland as often as possible. Presenting the dogs is a great pleasure for Riikka-Marja and we will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.
